Environment Counts | WMO reports atmospheric CO2, CH4, N2O reach new highs in 2012 :

The latest observation from the WMO Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Program shows that CO2, CH4, and N2O concentrations continued to increase from 2011 to 2012.
GHG | CO2(ppm | CH4(ppb) | N2O(ppb) |
Global abundance in 2012 | 393.1ppm | 1819ppb | 325.1ppb |
2012 abundance relative to 1750 | 141% | 260% | 120% |
Increase 2011-2012 | 2.2ppm | 6ppb | 0.9ppb |
Mean annual increase during last decade | 2.02ppm/yr | 3.7ppb/yr | 0.80ppb/yr |
Radiative forcing 1979-2012
The NOAA Annual Greenhouse Gas Index shows that from 1990 to 2012 radiative forcing by long-lived greenhouse gases increased by 32%, with CO2 accounting for 80% of this increase.
